How The Commission Process Works
Step 1: Place Your Inquiry
Choose your desired portrait size and submit your commission inquiry. You’ll have the opportunity to share details about your pet, your vision for the portrait, and any special requests you may have.
Step 2: Disscussion
Once I receive your inquiry, I’ll reach out to discuss your project in more detail. We’ll talk about your pet, the composition you have in mind, and the reference photos you’d like to use. This is also a chance for me to learn more about what makes your pet special to you.
Step 3: Commission Approval
Every portrait is thoughtfully reviewed before being accepted. After discussing your project and reviewing your reference photos, I’ll confirm that I’m confident I can create a beautiful portrait that meets your vision and works well with my painting style.
Step 4: Creating Your Portrait
Once your commission is officially accepted, I’ll begin creating your unique oil painting. Each portrait is carefully hand-painted on canvas panel and take approximately 3-6 weeks to complete and fully dry.
Step 5: Sending It Off
I will send photos of your completed portrait to you for approval. This will be the time to make any slight adjustments if would like. However, the changes you can make here can only be minute. I will not be able to change big features such as the position of the face or adding a large accessory. This is why I prioritize the discussion process beforehand. That is the time to suggest any large adjustments. Once you approve, It will be carefully framed, if requested, and packaged with care.

Frequently asked questions
Can you paint other animals that are not ordinary pets?
This can be discussed during the beginning stages of the project. I am open to painting other animals that are special to you! However, I do prefer to work from original reference photos. That being said, I will try my best to accomadate any special request.
When do I pay?
I will take a 50% deposit fee before the project starts to help with material cost and time. Once the painting is complete, I will request the final 50% before shipping it to you.
When will I get my commission?
I will try to work as quickly as I can to get your order to you! With that being said, I estimate the completion of the project to take between 3-6 weeks. This is because a variety of factors can prolong the process, such as the size of the painting, how many animals, and external factors.
Do I get to pick the background?
Yes! We will discuss the the background of the portrait during the project. You may pick a solid color background or, for an extra cost, a more detail image such as a place your animal like to go, or them laying in their bed. You may provide different reference photos, and I can combine them as well.
What if I want a different size or if I want it on a canvas?
More sizes and surfaces can be available on request! Please note that a canvas will cost more in the final total.
